its soooo long lasting

had a blast on the fourth. finally got to shoot a gun for the very first time. i've always been so afraid of them. i suppose its because guns have always had a negative connotation to me, and we never had them in the house growing up so i didn't know what to do with them. we drank beers at 9:30... nothing like a coors light for breakfast. haha! actually, i had this killer omlette with ham, mozzarella, and pineapple. very odd, but very good.

so we shot off some rounds and jess and i peed in the woods (only like the third time ever for me... i'm a toilet seat sort of girl). she makes me laugh and the it just sprays out harder... of course. i was seriously worried about some overspray on the jeans. all turned out fine, however. but how can you not laugh drinking coors light in the woods at 9:30 in the morning, peeing, with your pants around your ankles holding onto a tree and watching your piss run downhill. i mean, that's some funny shit right there.

i snapped lots of photos with the new cam. god its fun. i love just being able to take millions of pictures and know that at least a few will turn out. its good to have memories.

we had some fabulous ribs and soda bread over at my mom's. i made an angelfood cake w/ fresh strawberries and vanilla frozen yogurt for dessert. everything was divine. it was such a fun day. so many fun things to remember. such as:

aimee: dustin, you look gay twirling that sparkler around
grandma: i remember when "gay" was a good thing!
dustin: i remember when a "faggot" was a bundle of sticks
grandma: i remember when "queer" was just odd
aimee & dustin: ((guffawing like horses))

we ran over to a friends' house who lives right on the water in steilacoom. it was great to watch the fireworks show from her back deck, however, with all the people on the deck, i was half-certain we were going to fall to our death down the cliff and be catapulted onto the train tracks just as a train came and smashed us all to bits, leaving a few lonely survivors to cry out in pain as the train continued to rail our disheveled bodies. okay, so maybe not that far, but there were a lot of people on the deck. i stood next to the door, ready to jump inside to safety at any moment and leave my poor husband to fall to his death.

we had some nice commentary on the deck. funny thing is, i'm fairly certain she wasn't even inebriated. this woman had a comment for every firework. her voice was so similar to 'stiffler's mom' on American Pie, i'm not certain one could tell the difference between the two. she'd say "oooh, that's my favorite one!"... and she said it so many times! then she'd say "look at the bees" or "its so long lasting!!!!!" people were totally laughing and making fun of her and she was completely oblivious.

made some goodies for the upcoming kit last night as cj and i sat on the couch and watched movies. it was a great weekend. i need more like them...
