i was dragged to the Nordstrom Rack with my sister this weekend to check out the 'new arrivals'... and unfortunately found quite a few things to be to my liking.

i bought these little steve madden beauties...

and these little cute kitten heels from born



and these prized posessions... HUDSON FREAKING AWESOMES!!



and of course i bought a few things for hubby so he wouldn't think that i spent money only on myself... a nice hoodie, two button ups, and a rad hurley t-shirt.

i have also been working on lots of projects for purple onion, paperminx, and my dad's book i'm making him for christmas.

i've been cooking a lot, i made a rockin stew last week and a caramel apple tart from weight watchers that, HEAVENS TO BETSY, was insanely good!

here's the stew, if anyone's interested:

Beef Stew

1 1/2 lbs boneless, beef chuck roast trimmed of fat
1 envelope dry low-sodium onion soup mix
1/2 tsp. black pepper
6 cups water
2 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed (i used red potatoes and i didn't peel them)
8 medium carrots, cut into chunks
1 medium onion chopped
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
1 cup frozen corn, thawed
5 tbsp corn startch
6 tbsp cold water

1. Place beef in slow cooker, sprinkle with soup mix and pepper.
2. Pour water around meat
3. cover. Cook on low for 8 hours
4. Remove roast and let stand for 5 minutes
5. Add vegetables to slow cooker. Cube beef and return to slow cooker.
6. Cover. Cook on low 1 1/2 hours, or until veggies are tender.
7. Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth, stir into stew.
8. Cover, cook on high one more hour.
