manchester

so ... i'm running a little behind. what's new? just finally got the manchester state park pictures uploaded and then halloween comes along and puts me even further behind. oh what a wonderful time we had there last weekend. we took a long walk with the pooches, had wonderful food (homemade biscuits and gravy, chili, french toast and sausage, fresh berries with creme fresh). seriously, it was delightful. great to spend time with cj, great to spend time with some new friends. something about fall, the chill in the air, the leaves changing, sunny days. that smell... ooh how i love that about washington. you can go outside and immediately that crispness hits you and makes you love life even more than before.

it was such a wonderful place to camp. as dusk hit each night, we could hear the sea lions calling to eachother. i'm sure some people thought it was annoying, but i love the beach. the crunch of the sand underfoot, the lapping of waves against the cliffs, the barking of sea lions, the salty kelp smell that lingers. there's a peacefulness about standing on the shore that cannot be achieved elsewhere. it makes me feel whole and home. not to get all sappy (haha, yeah right) but truly, these little trips make me feel so connected to earth and the more important aspects of life, family, friends... good times. things immaterial. also, i've decided, having never really done it before because of the chill here, that fall is the best and most beautiful time to camp in washington. having an RV makes it all possible. i cannot wait until we can have one of our own someday. i'll leave you with a few shots from the weekend :)

xoxo,
aimee

I totally get what you mean about feeling the connection with the earth, family and friends. It's something I try to do every day.
