also, she had no wine. that's a big strike.
okay, so really, it was nice to be around cj's famly... the outlaws are a little change of pace from my fam. his grandma is a hoot! she's a wonderful woman and she cracks me up. also, she brings her little weener dog, sammy, everhwhere she goes. (although she brings her on a leash, not in a purse, thank god. i'm sorry if you carry your dog in a purse. i don't hate you, i promise i don't. but that's a big joke to me.) you should see her try to tell all her boys and grandsons what to do, they do it though... boy do they ever!
another card of mine is posted on the purple onion blog! i made this on my crafty weekend with the girls up in seattle. gotta do that again soon!

cj and i were super productive this weekend. we crossed all sorts of goodies off our list. we painted our living room, finished our christmas shopping, bought and assembled a new entertainment center from IKEA that is simply to die for, and ate. oh, did i mention that we ate? and then we ate some more. god we are fat pigs... seriously, neither one of us could quit eating all weekend, it was a free-for-all. but as of now.. no more tom-foolery, no more ballywho...
i will post pictures of my living room soon. last night i had a bit of a tough night, so i cut out aprons to sew. cutting fabric calms me. i know, weird huh? but that was only after i'd stuffed my face with beef stroganoff. i made it with fat free sour cream though, so it wasn't "THAT" bad.
one thing nice this weekend, i found out i won a prize from MANHANDLED... a set of buttons. and not just any buttons, super cute buttons!
i picked these ones:

i love them! they're super cute. thank you dears for
picking me!
also, i found out that this whole last year i've been working, we won't be getting our normal company 401k contribution. a good friend of mine said something that is true... many people don't have 401k, hell many people don't even have medical. but i did, and i was used to it, and i worked the whole last year thinking i was going to be getting it at the beginning of next year and now i'm not. and that's a bum deal folks. that's a bum deal. i can see NEXT year... yes the company's having trouble... but don't you think (when the company was having trouble last january) you should have told us before? instead of letting us stay, be loyal, and take all the bullshit, meanwhile thinking we'll be getting our 401k contributions like the good little dumbasses that we have proven to be? i guess that's too much to ask. and now i've said my piece and i won't be complaining about it anymore. sorry about the one paragraph rant.
onto bigger and better things.
tonight, i'm going to sew :)

Ohhh cute buttons Aimee, congrats.
Sorry about the 401K that truly sucks, it really, really does.
Can't wait to see your living room.. what color did you paint it?
those buttons are supercute!
you're right - what's thanksgiving without wine?!? that's just crazy!!
lol on your Thanksgiving dinner adventure. :)
no wine!!!??? i am disgusted! thats a huge no no. i guess i will have to drink a little tonight to make up for it (for you)
I totally agree with you in regards to Edward and yes he did look constipated for the majority of the movie... maybe that's how vampires feel? Ha ha!
Did I ever give you my cell #? I need to do that if I haven't so if you find yourself in my neck of the woods we can grab a coffee.
Otherwise... let's plan to scrap after the new year, weekends are filling up with holiday stuff for me.
definately understand your frustration - They should have told you as soon as they knew - hang in there.
LOL! You crack me up. Glad I found your blog. I would have ranted for two paragraphs over the 401K. That sucks. On a positive note, the card is awesome. Thanks for the smile!
Those buttons are adorable. Have fun sewing!
Aimee, you are channeling Lucille Ball tonight I swear! The tom foolery must continue, please! okay you should have been here for dinner because my turkey was moist, no fruit in the stuffing and by golly there was wine flowing! And one of my guests brought her little dog that was wearing a dress. I love dogs, even little ones and I don't hate people who dress their dogs but it's a big joke to me to and I would have been able to look across the table at you with a LOOK as I tipped more wine down my throat.
I swear I love you more and more!
that dinner shound GROS!! you poor thing...(-; i loooove those little buttons! lucky you....i might have to get me some of those. gotta see pics of the ikea unit! did you manage to do it w/o fighting? joe and i are on the brink of divorce everytime ikea is involved. he he.
