this man makes me laugh. in a few short weeks we will have been married for FOUR years. holy cow. i can't believe its been that long already and we've owned a house for almost that entire time. i got married when i was 22, that is crazy. i was a baby. i think back to how immature and ridiculous we were at that time and i wonder how we ever made it this far?
last night we were putting clean sheets on the bed. that is a little chore i've always hated doing by myself... i was reminded of a funny little quirk he has. so we have a kingsize bed with a down comforter and a duvet cover. i always turn the duvet inside out and grab one bottom corner and then wait for him to fumble around and get his. problem is, he can't ever conceptually figure out how to get to his bottom corner. should he turn it inside out, should he not? he always gets confused and it cracks me up. so last night i found my corner, gave him mine, and then went to his side of the bed and found the other corner and we easily slipped the clean duvet cover on. why does this matter? because its a little thing we always giggle about. everytime we make the bed we giggle because he can't figure out how to find the correct corner of the duvet cover to slip over the comforter. i think these are the little moments that matter most in life. the silly little things we take for granted.
we've been through a lot together. a year in iraq... and a lot of issues afterward dealing with ailments and the military. but i think the main thing to point out is we've done it all together and we're still loving eachother more every day. i think this past year has been the hardest of all of them, but in a way, the hardships have brought us the closest together we've ever been. and for that, i am thankful.
please, don't forget about the drawing to win some free champagne jelly and orange marmalade with a hint of vanilla here.
some random thoughts:
- i totally grilled in the rain last night because i was craving bbq chicken
- i can't get enough of those new starbucks vanilla roobios tea lattes
- i burnt my forhead with my chi hair straightener on sunday morning (glam, i know)
- my most hated household chore is folding clothes, in fact, as i type this, there is a mound of nasty needed to be folded clothes on the bed. they give me nightmares.

funny!! Happy Anniversary! stay away from the hair straightner!
Aww, congrats on 4 years, time does fly that's for sure! Appreciate the little things, that's the key, I agree with you.
(And I don't think 22 is too young to get married, I got married at 23 and it was great!)
That is sooo sweet about the two of you! Congrats, sweetie!
And I like to grill...even in the middle of winter.
Hope you two are having a wonderful week! ;P
B
Happy Anniversary a bit early! I hate to fold, too. That is why I have piles of wrinkly clothes, but whatever.
Loved the story about the two of you making the bed!!!! Is it not funny the little things we do as couples that are quirky, but are us!!!! Happy Anniversary!!!!
congratulations to both of you! Yeah, it is the little things isn't it? You are wise Amimeeson..
Thats so funny...about the bed making! and big kudos to you on the 4 years...especially with the mess of Iraq mixed in there.
I had to giggle about the bbq in the rain...we just did the same thing this afternoon...simply because I wanted a BBq'd hotdog!
Congratulations on 4 years! Cute story... it IS all about the little things.
Happy Anniversary...
I am still keeping my fingers crossed for that jelly woman.
